Iowa wouldn’t be Iowa without our farmers. I will always stand with the farmers— the stewards of our land, the hands that feed the people of the world, and the legacy of our state.  Iowa farmers have had to fight through economic downturns, unpredictable markets, and rising costs. Our farmers cannot wait another 10-years to pass a new farm bill.  They need leaders who will stand with them in the fight for their markets and their pocket books.

1. Pass a Farm Bill: It’s been a decade since we passed a farm bill. Congress has abandoned Iowa farmers in a rapidly changing agricultural world. We need new leadership who will actually get a new farm bill over the finish line.

2. Incentivize small and family owned farms to grow crops for food. 

3. Rebuild our local production facilities and system so farmers have a place to sell their products. 

4. Invest in sustainable agriculture practices like cover crops, wetlands, and prairies to increase soil health and protect water quality

5. End the devastating tariffs that have destroyed the decades of work done to secure foreign markets
