Guided by her core belief to “love your neighbor,” Lindsay is committed to fixing a broken system that favors billionaires and leaves too many Iowans behind. Throughout her life, Lindsay has worked tirelessly to listen and support her fellow neighbors through the good and bad.&nbsp; As a chaplain, she has provided support to those facing hardships. The Dad, do I put food on the table for my family, or pay the rent.&nbsp; No one should have to make these kinds of choices. DC politicians are turning a blind eye to challenges that hard working families face in our state. Instead of fighting for us, they are more concerned with their billionaire donors, and the predatory corporations that care more about their bottom line than the person behind it.<ol><li>Housing: Cut Red Tape and roll back tariffs on building materials so we can build millions of new homes. This is simple supply and demand and we must increase supply to lower the cost.</li><li>Child &amp; Elder care: Cap costs based on percentage of family income which will lower costs for families and boost those available to join the workforce.&nbsp;</li><li>Utilities: Unleash the American energy enterprise and fast track innovative new sources of energy to bring down utilities costs.</li><li>Food and Groceries: Take back control of the tariff power to end the willy-nilly use raising raw product costs and increase American food production and strengthen our supply chains by supporting local family farms&nbsp;</li></ol>

Bring Down the Cost of Living for Working Iowans

Iowa wouldn’t be Iowa without our farmers. I will always stand with the farmers— the stewards of our land, the hands that feed the people of the world, and the legacy of our state.&nbsp; Iowa farmers have had to fight through economic downturns, unpredictable markets, and rising costs. Our farmers cannot wait another 10-years to pass a new farm bill.&nbsp; They need leaders who will stand with them in the fight for their markets and their pocket books.<ol><li>Pass a Farm Bill: It’s been a decade since we passed a farm bill. Congress has abandoned Iowa farmers in a rapidly changing agricultural world. We need new leadership who will actually get a new farm bill over the finish line.</li><li>Incentivize small and family owned farms to grow crops for food.&nbsp;</li><li>Rebuild our local production facilities and system so farmers have a place to sell their products.&nbsp;</li><li>Invest in sustainable agriculture practices like cover crops, wetlands, and prairies to increase soil health and protect water quality</li><li>End the devastating tariffs that have destroyed the decades of work done to secure foreign markets</li></ol>

No one in the United States should have to face bankruptcy because of a healthcare emergency. No one in our country should have to ration life saving medication because of high costs and deductibles, or travel hundreds of miles to receive quality care. As Iowa cancer rates increase and rural healthcare faces incredible financial strain, we need urgent policy changes.<ol><li>Medicare: I pledge to fight against any cuts to the care our seniors deserve. I will work to lower the Medicare buy in age to 55, and expand their ability to negotiate all drug prices so we can lower prescription costs.</li><li>Medicaid: We must immediately reverse the disastrous cuts to Medicaid that have left rural healthcare providers under strain, and jeopardized services for Iowans.</li><li>Price Transparency: Hospitals and Insurance Companies must provide transparency in what they are charging consumers and covering and I will hold them accountable to that.</li><li>Recruit and Retain more doctors and nurses to make up for Iowa’s lack of medical professionals, especially in rural areas.</li><li>Restore Roe v. Wade to be the law of the land and defend a woman’s right to make her own medical decision with her body.</li></ol>

Washington is riddled with corruption and greed. Our system of government has been rigged for billionaires and large corporations which seek only to expand their bottom line. Money in politics has led to toxic partisanship which seeks to divide us, distract us, and to keep us down. In order to create a healthier system, we have to get money out of politics.&nbsp; My promise to you:<ol><li>I will never take corporate PAC money,&nbsp;</li><li>I will vote to ban Congresspeople trading stocks and from becoming lobbyists&nbsp;</li><li>I will work to overturn Citizens United's decision.</li></ol>
